I’m Matty, the person behind MattyTripps. I created this site to share practical information from the things I actually do — kayaking and paddleboarding, DIY projects, home repairs, wood stove use, photography, travel, and the gear that comes along with all of it.

I’ve spent years learning by doing, comparing products, fixing things myself, and figuring out what works in the real world. MattyTripps is where I turn those experiences into useful guides, reviews, comparisons, and recommendations that can help other people make better decisions.

Some articles are based on hands-on experience, while others involve deeper research into products, techniques, or topics I’m interested in. When I recommend something, my goal is to explain why I think it’s worth considering rather than simply telling you what to buy.
